Analysis: A new USAF cyber-war doctrine

NEW DELHI, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- A recent decree by India's top Islamic seminary declaring terrorism anti-Islamic has not only come as a morale booster for moderates in the community, but also put on the defensive separatists and hardliners who were drawing religious and moral inspiration from 150-year-old Darul Uloom Deoband. .

Spy vs spy

The web of controversies hounding the administration is manifesting another dimension of our world today: how vulnerable we have become with the unscrupulous use of new spy technology. Readily available surveillance cameras and software for tracking mobile phones and PCs are assaulting our right to privacy and other freedoms. Moreover, our politics has turned even more convoluted by illegal but damning evidence like recorded conversations being sold or released to damage one political camp or another, whether deserved or not.

In Lozada's testimony at the Senate, we heard about how he was advised by his captors to stop using his cellphone since they were intercepting his messages anyway. We all know about the CCTV video systems installed across La Salle University in Greenhills where Lozada was sheltered.

Adelaide hosts solar congress

The mayors are getting together, talking about how they've done it, learning from each other and taking these initiatives back home," she said.

"What we're aiming for is to get the per capita emissions down.

"In order to do that we must have a big transition to renewable energy so at the congress there will be a bit on the new technologies that are available, including solar thermal and geothermal plus pv (photovoltaics or solar panels).

"We will hear from cities that have long had programs in reducing emissions, like Copenhagen and even South Korean cities.

"It's easier if you start from scratch but older cities have to retrofit and learn from others that are doing it right."

Premier Mike Rann says SA is one of the leaders.

State Vote Allows Use Of Gas Chambers To Kill Unwanted Pets

More than 100,000 animals were gassed to death in North Carolina shelters in 2006.

Of the 100 counties in the state, 37 use carbon monoxide gas chambers to eliminate unadoptable pets. The other 63 use what is regarded nationally as the more humane method, lethal injection.

National and local organizations have worked for years to get the state to put an end to gas chambers and it looked like Wednesday it was going to happen.

The State Board of Agriculture met to discuss and vote on a set of new regulations that would standardize, govern and make euthanasia more humane throughout the state. One of the key provisions of the new rules was the four-year phase out of gas chambers and mandate to use lethal injection instead.

While the board agreed unanimously to make numerous positive changes, they removed the elimination of gas chambers from the vote.

Welcome to Adlon Hotel in Stockholm

Can anybody tell me what is expected from my c.v and covering letter in Sweden. I am soon hoping to apply for my first job in Sweden and really don't want to mess it up! I was planning to get help writing my covering letter in Swedish, but even these letters seem quite different form any covering letter I have written in England. I was told recently that it should be a general introduction letter about myself, perhaps even with a photo, not just work related, mentioning my age my partner my interests etc....is this correct? As for the c.v should I translate it into Swedish? What order should things be in...my english c.v starts with contact info, then education, then previous employment, then additional skills/experience and finally referees....does this order stay the same? As you can see...I am not sure .

Where am I?

How about suing whoever planted the thermite explosives in the THREE buildings that were imploded? Or maybe just cut to the chase and sue the CIA for creating this phony bogey man Al Queada and arch villain Bin Laden. It is all a farce, to frighten us into giving up our freedoms and to accept things like false imprisonment, no access to lawyers or family, no habeas corpus, torture , on and on. You all may be spared some of the worst over there but we here in Amerika are headed for a real fascist nightmare............unless we can get the truth out soon.

Ante up the cost of three or four kids and the sum gives new meaning to the term: mid life crisis.

There is no relief in sight for the next generation. With the outlay of a college education expected to increase at five percent a year, the average annual cost of a private college in 15 years is pegged at $51,664. Factor five percent a year to the already nose bleed cost of sending a child to Harvard, MIT, Boston College or Boston University, and you’re bracing for an annual expense of $90,000 by 2017.

"(Higher) education is at a crisis point, the result of uncontrolled cost increases over the past 20 years that have greatly exceeded the rate of inflation or annual consumer price indexes," the Houston Chronicle observes in an editorial. "Tuition forces parents to pull all-nighters, too," adds Paul Daugherty in the Cincinnati Enquirer.
